All you need to do is contest the citation. Do not contact the officer in anyway. Contesting means that you will have your case heard before a magistrate or actual Judge. Explain your side there.

Be forewarned. The officers word will likely trump yours in court unless you can show a good reason why the citation should be dismissed (very hard if not impossible to do.)

I would work on a mistaken identity approach with the incorrect address and incorrect vehicle. Also check the actual citation (for example: Ohio Revised Code: 0000.00) You have the right to know what you are charged with specificly. The citation must be signed and filled out correctly, or you may have some grounds there.

Lastly and most importantly, if the officer fails to show up for court, which is possible if it is a very minor offense.....then you win automaticly!
