How do i get a job when I have an arrest record? HELP PLEASE

I was suspended and then subsequently fired from a job for alledgly stealing from the company. I now have an arrest record- no conviction- case pending. It is for a felony, and I haven't been able to get a job because of that. i know I have the qualifications, and I know that they are discriminating based on the background check they do. How do I word to a potential employer why I left my last employer without either divulging the entire truth, yet not lying, and then what do I do when they get the results back from a background check? I go through all the interview process very well, and am liked, and then they run a background check, and I get screwed! I am so at a loss, not to mention jobless and broke. That arrest is not who I am, and most of all, I'm a trustworthy and dependable person, so how can I get past the stigma, so I can get a job? Please help, I don't know what to do.
