Please Help - Got a traffic ticket in ERROR

: I was given an traffic ticket (moving citation) in error. The police officer was not paying attention and caught me in error for taking a right turn red light without stopping when I did not do it. 

: It was dark and late in night. There was moderate traffic on the road and the road is curved...  so I believe he lost the sight of the real car.

: Still he was not paying attention at all. He noted my address incorrectly from the drivers license and my car name was also misspelt on the citation.

: I am planning to call the officer and let him know about the mistakes he made in the citation. I am planning talk to him calmly and get a acknowledgement for all these mistakes from the officer. Will it be legal for me to record this phone conversation on tape without informing the officer? Will I be able to use this confession of mistake in court to prove the office was not paying any attention to any facts? 

: Please help this innocent victim. Thanks in advance for your help...
